A hostel is a budget-friendly shared lodging where guests among other alternatives can rent a bed in a shared dormitory, with a social common area and a kitchen.

Of course! Our guest kitchen is fully equipped, with oven, microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine and dish washer. Write your name and departure date on paper bags that can be found in the kitchen, and use these to store your food in our shared refrigerators and freezers.

Both bed linen and towel are included, and will be available in your room at arrival. Bed linen has to be put on yourself. Used linen and towels are to be thrown in a trolley in the basement upon departure. Extra towel can be rented.

We have a parking garage with 14 parking lots reserved for our guests. The parking lot has to be pre-booked and costs 150 NOK per night. Please be aware that the car cannot be taler than 2.05 meters.

Please let us know in advace, so that we can place your key in one of our key boxes available at the exterior of the hostel. Your key can also be used to enter the hostel’s main entrance

Trondheim Vandrerhjem is a cashless hostel. We accept all regular types of bank and credit cards, such as Mastercard and VISA.

We do not offer breakfast. It is possible to buy quick snacks and drinks in the reception.

We love cats and dogs, and your four-legged friend is of course welcome to join you on your stay! Due to extra cleaning, an additional fee of 200 NOK will be applied per stay. This service has to be pre-booked, as we have a limited amount of rooms reserved for pets. Your pets are not allowed in the common areas. Please consult this site if you are looking for dog-friendly traveling tip whilst staying in Trondheim.

From the hostel, it is a 5 minute walk to Bunnpris, and 7 minutes to Rema 1000 at Rosenborg.

When staying with us, you can be assured that both your room and common areas are clean. All common areas are cleaned daily, while kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned at least twice daily

Airport bus: Værnesekspressen takes you from the airport to Trondheim in less than 30 minutes. Disembark at «Solsiden», and walk 8 minutes up to Trondheim Vandrerhjem. The hostel is situated on a hill, so be aware that the walk includes a rather long uphill.
Train: From Trondheim S to the hostel, expect a 23 minutes walk. Start walking towards Solsiden, and thereafter uphill.
Bus from the city center: Bus number 25 from Prinsens Gate P1 or bus number 28 from Kongens Gate K2 stops at Weidemanns vei, only 2 minutes walk from Trondheim Vandrerhjem. Both bus rides takes approximately 10 minutes. Please be aware that bus number is not in operation when it is summer.

Solsiden - known for its bustling life - offers a vast selection of restaurants and boutiques, and is located 10 minutes walk from the hostel. To the lovely cobblestone streets of Bakklandet, you can expect a 16 minutes walk. Torvet in the city center is situated 20-25 minutes walk from Trondheim Vandrerhjem.
Please be aware that the return to the hostel might take longer, as Trondheim Vandrerhjem is placed on top of a hill.
If you do not prefer walking, there are tons of colourful electric scooters placed all over the city, which might be rented for a small fee.

Trondheim Vandrerhjem does not operate its own restaurant/cafe. You can either make your own food in our fully equipped guest kitchen, order take-away online from a food delivery service or og to a restaurant. The closest restaurant is 3 minutes from the hostel. However, by walking 10 minutes down to Solsiden, you can find a wide selection of restaurants and cafes.

At the reception you will be able to buy snacks and drinks.

Of course! It is free and available in all rooms.

The hostel has an elevator that reaches all floors, also from the parking basement. We have one broader parking lot. We have toilets in each floor with armrests. Contact us for more information.

We do permit the consumation of alcohol in the hostel’ except inside shared dormetories. While we encourage you to have a blast, let's remember to strike that perfect balance between fun and consideration for others.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the hostel.

The prices vary regarding the number of persons, periods, season and room styles. If you book directly on the hostels website you will save 10% compared to booking sites like Booking.com, Hotels.com etc.

Children up to the age of 2 are free of charge, whereas children over this age are considered guests in the same way as adults.

There is a 75’’ TV in the common area, and also a dedicated social movie room with projector. You are free to use with your private user on streaming applications such as Netflix, HBO, Disney etc.
